ASTM B338 / ASME SB338 Titanium Tube Grade 7 UNS R52400 Alloy Steel Seamless Tube

 

 

Titanium Grade 7, also known as Ti-0.15Pd (Titanium 0.15% Palladium), is a highly corrosion-resistant and weldable grade of titanium. It is part of the commercially pure titanium group and is alloyed with a small amount of palladium (approximately 0.12-0.25%) to enhance its corrosion resistance. Its corrosion resistant alpha titanium alloy with similar mechanical properties to the commercially pure grades. It has a small palladium addition to improve corrosion resistance, particularly in mineral acids and strong brines.

 

 

The Feature of Titanium Gr.7

  1. Corrosion Resistance: Titanium Grade 7 is renowned for its exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in reducing and mildly oxidizing environments. It is particularly well-suited for applications in chemical processing, where it can withstand exposure to various corrosive chemicals and acids.

  2. Strength: Like other commercially pure titanium grades, Titanium Grade 7 offers a good balance of strength and ductility. Its mechanical properties make it suitable for a wide range of applications, particularly in the chemical industry.

  3. Weldability: Titanium Grade 7 is known for its excellent weldability. It can be easily welded using various common methods, such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW). This makes it a preferred choice for fabrications that require welding.

  4. Fabrication: This titanium grade can be easily formed, machined, and fabricated into various shapes and components. It is commonly used in the manufacture of heat exchangers, valves, and other equipment in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
