Description
ASTM A312 310s is a long-standing material for general corrosion service and high temperature service. The composition of A312 Tp310s material includes carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur and chromium and nickel. The composition enables the material to withstand strong oxidizing agents at high temperatures. However, SA 312 Tp 310s has a lower carbon content than the standard version, which increases the toughness of the pipe. In comparison, the high temperature strength of the 310s stainless steel pipe product is reduced. Therefore, they are preferred in applications operating continuously at mild to elevated temperatures. Due to the low carbon content, 310s stainless steel welded pipe does not experience much intergranular corrosion. Therefore there is no localized corrosion of these pipes. So applications that require heavy soldering can use this material grade. Excellent toughness and reduced corrosion make them suitable for low temperature conditions as well. But the most common application for seamless 310 is in general corrosion service.
SS 310s tubing is highly ductile and can be shaped as required. Cold drawn tubes are easy to form, but SS 310s Erw tubes are resistance welded and stronger. The different production mechanisms used with this material grade have advantages. Our SS 310s round tube is the most common, and we offer other shapes such as SS 310s square tube. ASTM A312 TP310
310 is a high temperature service austenitic stainless steel. It is a high alloy material used to prevent oxidation and corrosion. This is achieved through the chromium and nickel components in the composition. The 310S has a lower carbon content of up to 0.08%, while the 310 has a carbon content of up to 0.24%. This material is used for high temperature service, 1150 degrees Celsius for continuous service and 1035 degrees Celsius for intermittent service.
It has corrosion resistance and high formability. As a result, products can be made in different forms and types, such as pipes, tubes as well as square, round, honed tubes and hydraulics. Oxidation resistance is maintained even at 1150 degrees as the system emits no sulfurous gases. It is also used in the production of pipe fittings such as flanges. There are different pressure classes, from 150 to PN64 and more.
The 310s material also has a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 525 MPa. This also allows the material to be used under high pressure. The combination of all these properties allows the material to be used in burners, annealing caps, stills, combustion chambers, lead pots and radiant tubes, under these respective harsh conditions.
